Meet the Ensemble

“Canticus,” (Kahn-teh-koos) Latin for “to sing,” is the name as well as the purpose of Canticus Vocal Ensemble is a chamber choir which presents a variety of music from various genres and historical periods.

Canticus Vocal Ensemble serves the Central Washington area, performing choral music at a high artistic level suited for a small choir.

Our Artistic Goal: To perform choral chamber works at the highest level.

Canticus Vocal Ensemble will close its 10th Anniversary Season with a concert of choral music reflecting the welcome arrival of Spring’s warmth and light.

The concert, “Alway Something Sings,” will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at Englewood Christian Church, 511 North 44th Avenue. The concert’s title comes from a poem by one of America’s most celebrated poets, Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Besides highlighting the talented vocalists of Canticus, the May 4 concert will also feature the Central Washington University Wildcat Chorus and the Yakima High School Honor Choir comprised of singers from six high schools throughout the Yakima Valley.
